Journalist and organizer Ashraful Kabir Asif has turned 46. He was born on January 27, 1981, in a respectable Muslim family in Shyampur, Sadar Upazila of Gaibandha district. His father, the late Abdullahel Kabir, was a retired senior principal officer of Rupali Bank Limited. Asif spent his childhood and adolescence in Bogra due to his father’s work.
Ashraful Kabir Asif, who has a record of achievements in education and career, passed his SSC in 1997 from Bogra Zilla School and HSC in 1999 from Government Azizul Haque College. Later, he completed his honors and masters from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Rajshahi University.
In 2006, he started his formal career as a sub-editor and columnist of the newspaper ‘Dainik Jaya Zaydin’ under the editorship of renowned journalist Shafiq Rehman. After that, he joined television journalism. In addition to serving as the joint news editor on Baishakhi Television, he hosted the popular live talk show ‘CDL Sangbad Saradin’. After that, he successfully served as the news editor for a long time on RTV and ATN Bangla. In 2022, he was awarded the ‘Best News Editor’ award by ATN Bangla. Since January 1, 2023, he has been serving as the editor and publisher of ‘Bangladesh Global’.
Along with journalism, Ashraful Kabir Asif is also well-known as an organizer. He has served as the general secretary of the Rangpur Division Journalists’ Association, Dhaka (RDJA) and the joint secretary of the Online Newsportal Association Bangladesh (ONAB). He is also working as the general secretary of the Freelancers Association of Bangladesh and the member secretary of the Gaibandha Sadar Upazila Samity, Dhaka. He is one of the founding members of the Bogra First Division Cricket League team ‘Zia Memorial Club’. In his personal life, he is the father of a son.
