He said, “Come, let us embrace the great ideals of Eid-ul-Azha, inspired by the spirit of unity not division; compassion not violence; justice not selfishness and equality not discrimination.” In a video message recorded at Bangabhaban this morning, the President conveyed heartfelt greetings and ‘Eid Mubarak’ to the countrymen and the Muslim community of the world.

He said, Eid-ul-Azha strengthens self-sacrifice, mutual brotherhood, harmony and social solidarity among people. At the same time, this festival carries an eternal and universal call to sacrifice hatred, arrogance and animality of the mind. In his message, the President called for sharing the joy of Eid with the poor and needy, relatives and neighbors. The Head of State also called on the wealthy of the society to come forward to ensure the just rights of the helpless.

Stressing the importance of awareness in protecting the environment and public health, the President made a special request to the countrymen to provide all-out cooperation to the concerned authorities to quickly remove the sacrificial waste and keep the environment clean.
