Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton visited a temporary vaccination center in Shahjadpur, Dhaka, as part of the nationwide measles-rubella vaccination program. He observed the vaccination program of children at the center, which was set up in a private school, on Monday.
During the visit, Administrator Milton was accompanied by Health Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, US Ambassador to Bangladesh H. E. Mr. Brent T. Christensen, Special Envoy Mr. Charles Harder and UNICEF Representative Ms. Rana Flower.
At this time, the DNCC administrator highlighted the importance of the vaccination program and said that this program is very important to build a healthy and strong generation. He assured full cooperation from the City Corporation in this program and urged the parents to be aware so that no child is left out of the vaccination.
It is worth noting that under this large nationwide program, a target of vaccinating about 18 million children aged 6 months to 5 years has been set. The guests present expressed satisfaction after seeing the orderly process of vaccinating children at this center in Shahjadpur.
