
Today (June 12) is the International Day Against Child Labour. This year’s theme of the day is ‘Red Card to Child Labour: Justice for Children, Decent Work for Adults’. Like other countries in the world, the day is celebrated with various ceremonies in Bangladesh.
According to a report published by the International Labour Organization (ILO) on June 8, about 138 million minors are currently involved in child labour worldwide. Of these, about 54 million children are involved in hazardous work.
On the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour, this year’s theme of the Ministry of Labour and Employment is ‘Say no to child labour, ensure decent working conditions’.
