Deepest tributes have been paid to the great freedom proclaimer and advocate of multi-party democracy, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, on the occasion of his 45th martyrdom anniversary by placing wreaths at his mausoleum. Leaders and activists led by former Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener and prominent BNP leader Saiful Alam Nirob paid tribute to him on Saturday (May 30).
After paying homage, a special prayer was offered seeking forgiveness for the soul of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. At this time, the leaders and activists present, led by Saiful Alam Nirob, paid deep respect to the colorful political life, patriotism, honesty and nationalist ideals of Shaheed Zia.
While placing the wreath, Saiful Alam Nirob told the leaders and activists that martyred President Ziaur Rahman was the leader of Bangladeshi nationalism. In the current political context, his ideals and patriotism show us the way. The country’s democracy and freedom must be protected on the path shown by him.
In the prayer, it was said, “May Allah grant martyr President Ziaur Rahman Jannatul Firdous.
