The upazila administration has conducted a drive to evict illegal structures built by occupying government land in Ulpur Bazar of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila. The eviction drive was conducted on Tuesday (June 9) afternoon. The drive was led by Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ruhul Amin Sharif.
Ignoring the restrictions of the Land Office, some people were illegally constructing structures in the market. When the matter came to their attention, the upazila administration conducted a drive and demolished the structures.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ruhul Amin Sharif said that there are strict punishments in the law against illegal occupation of government land. No land belonging to the state will be allowed to remain in illegal occupation and this drive will continue to clear all types of illegal occupation in phases.
