The work of developing the alternative road of Kuril-Rampura Road from Purbachal 300 feet road to Aftabnagar in the capital is starting soon. Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton gave this information after inspecting the progress of the work on the ground in Satarkul area.
During the inspection, the administrator said that due to the new residential areas developed from Kuril to Rampura, the traffic has increased several times. The government has taken a plan to develop this alternative road to reduce the suffering of the people and to resolve the traffic congestion. He said that to resolve the traffic congestion caused by the narrowness of the Satarkul Bridge, the bridge will be widened and a 130-foot road will be constructed. This work will be completed in coordination with the relevant departments and housing organizations including RAJUK.
The RAJUK chairman said that the commuters will benefit from this road development within the next six months. Once this alternative road is launched, heavy vehicles will ply through Bishwa Road and light vehicles will ply through the new route, which will have a positive impact on the traffic congestion situation in the capital. Senior officials of DNCC, RAJUK, Water Development Board and DMP were present at the event.
